Admission Information and Fees
This teacher training program is for experienced students who have a strong desire to deepen their knowledge and understanding of this practice. Applicants should be at least 18 years old, have a regular yoga practice, and have a strong interest in learning more about this ancient philosophy, practice and process. We recommend at least 18 months of continuous, steady practice (sometimes more to become a strong candidate) of yoga before applying for teacher training. If you are ready to take this next step, this will be an immersion into asana technique, teaching methodology, yoga anatomy and philosophy that will give you the tools to become a strong and capable teacher and practitioner of yoga.
Please complete an application and we'll schedule a time for you to come to the studio for a class and interview. Upon acceptance a deposit of $400 is due.
Students are expected to attend all training sessions, for their own benefit, though we allow one weekend missed and expect students to give us notice and later gather the notes and assignments from fellow students.
• Keep a journal, take regular weekly classes, and at least one at Art of Balance Yoga (for no additional charge during the training period)
• Observe 5 classes at local yoga studios and write brief summaries of those observations
• Complete reading assignments and reflection papers for some training weekends
• Turn in all assignments and pay all fees
• Student will successfully teach one 75 minute karma class to guests
$2500 includes the $400 non-refundable deposit plus 6 monthly payments of $350 from January 1 - June 1. Required texts are sold (at a discount) through Art of Balance Yoga.
Included in the tuition:
During the training period from Jan. 12 - June 9th, yoga classes at AoBY are free.
Each student receives a binder for text pages that are distributed throughout the training.
