Admission Information and Fees

The teacher training program is for experienced students. Applicants should be at least 18 years old, have a regular yoga practice, and have a desire and curiosity to learn more about this ancient practice. We recommend at least a year (sometimes more to become a strong candidate) of dedicated yoga training before applying for teacher training.

Please complete an application and we'll schedule a time for you to come to the studio for a class and interview. Upon acceptance a deposit of $400 is due.

Students are expected to attend all training sessions, though with permission for sudden illness or some unexpected event such as a wedding, we allow one weekend missed and expect students to gather the notes and assignments from fellow students.

Graduation Requirements:
Students will be expected to keep a journal, take regular weekly class at Art of Balance Yoga (for no additional charge during the training period), attend 6 classes for observation at local yoga studios and write brief summaries of those observations. There will be reading assignments and reflection papers to complete after some training weekends. In order to graduate and receive a 200 hour Certification approved by Yoga Alliance, all assignments and fees must be submitted and successfully teach one 75 minute class to guests.

$2500 includes the $400 non-refundable deposit plus 6 monthly payments of $350 from January - June. Required texts are sold at a discount through Art of Balance Yoga.
